The COOK Centre of Oncology located in Krakow, is a government institution, funded from the National Committee for Scientific Research, from the Ministry of Health and from the National Health Fund – for patient treatment & hospitalisation. The Main Research Areas are the Development and clinical implementation of new radiotherapy planning techniques, the dosimetric verification of radiotherapy techniques, especially using TLD, in photon and electron beams, and the Radiobiological modelling of radiotherapy, including hadron beams, and of radiation effects. In MAESTRO project COOK is involved in evaluating, in clinical conditions, the advanced equipment procedures and techniques for simulation treatment and verification of radiotherapy procedures developed within the MAESTRO project.
