Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS) - Italy In Italy, the Istituto Superiore di Sanità in Roma is the technical and scientific body of the Italian National Health Service and comprises 1427 employees. It promotes public health through scientific research, surveys, controls and analytical tests in the different fields of health sciences. It collaborates with the Minister of Health in drawing up and implementing public health programmes. Research activities are carried out in the field of infectious diseases, metabolic and degenerative diseases, environment, food safety, drugs. In MAESTRO project, ISS is involved in the dosimetry sensors development and evaluation.
