Nuclear Research and consultancy Group (NRG) – The Netherlands NRG, a private company located in Petten and involving 350 employees, offers a wide range of high quality services to energy utilities, government organizations and various branches of industry - including the nuclear and medical sectors. In MAESTRO project NRG will be concerned with the risk assessments related to dose delivery to the patient, particularly to the healthy tissues, in the different radiotherapy modalities. To perform computer simulation of radiation transport NRG has developped the ORANGE software package, which is based on the 3D Monte Carlo code MCNP. Besides all the features present in MCNP, ORANGE has the capability of generating (at no extra cost in computer time) 3D distributions of arbitrary radiation-related quantities.
